A collection of projects I worked on with elementary school students.
Lindsey worked with ESL students at East End School in Portland, Maine. They painted bird houses using feathers as inspired by Maya Angelou’s story My Painted House, My Friendly Chicken, and Me.
Lindsey worked with students from Falmouth High School and Falmouth Elementary School to make bowls to raise money for Native Tribes of Maine. This was part of the Native American Unit for third grade students.
Lindsey worked with classmate Tamara Sullivan to teach students from Hall School in Portland, Maine and hold conversation about the art at the Institute of Contemporary Art.
Teacher Candidates set turned their classroom at MECA into an appropriate environment for hosting their workshops with students from Hall School.
Lindsey holds a brief critique with a couple of students while other students complete their artwork.
Student work installed by teacher candidates at the Hall School. Portland, Maine.
Fourth Graders at Congin Elementary in Westbrook, Maine used yarn to weave their own pieces of fabric on cardboard looms. This project was also inspired by the Quilters of Gees Bend, Alabama.
Students in grade two made and used styrofoam stamps to make printed paper.
